Anyone here a fan of new wave music? This genre just keeps growing on me. The first bands I got into were Duran Duran and Animotion, but I'm really starting to get into a **** load of other bands as well, especially The Cars who in my opinion are one of the best in the genre. Other bands I like are A Flock of Seagulls, a-Ha, Depeche Mode, Devo, Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, and Kajagoogoo. Sure, this music is pretty much the pop-punk of the 80s, but damn is it good. I like it mainly, because of the nice groove and cheesy but fun synths, and because it's rock music that you can dance to.

Hi 'IWP'. It's funny, your comment got me thinking. My siblings are HEAVILY into new wave, UNLIKE myself. However, as I've gotten older I have to say that some of the bands you mentioned their music HAS held up over time more than what I give it credit for, specifically The Cars and the Eurythmics. Although one could argue that The Cars are predominantly a rock band when all is said and done. But I digress. And yes, there's no doubt that today's twentysomethings have no qualms about dancing to 'Don't You Want Me' by the Human League. Without fail, the place goes nuts when that song is played in clubs on Saturday night! Great comment. :)
