Dexy's Midnight Runners

I just picked their album "Too Rye Ay" and listening to it now.

What genre would they fall under? Im thinking pop with some big soul influences or maybe even new-wave?

Anyone else a fan?

Pretty much hit the nail on the head there. ^

Thanks for the clarification.

Great band, although can get a bit nippy at times.

My favourite song of theirs:

The obvious choice for this band (apart from Come On Eileen) is 'Geno'. Rowland's tribute to Geno Washington.

You should check out Kevin Rowland and discover what kind of character he is.
Far more interesting than the band.

I heard Geno for the first time in ages on a film the other day and I got to thinking whether it would be worth getting an album. Come On Eileen was sort of a joke song to me when I was a young kid synonymous with crap wedding music but I am wondering whether to give them a full listen.

I can upload the album I mentioned earlier if on if you want.

Celtic Soul Brothers is my favourite song too. Come On Eileen is probably my least favourite of the album though.

Yeah that would be great thanks.

If I have done it correctly, you can expect a PM in the next couple minutes. Anyone else wanting it, just shout.

I wouldn't mind a link if it's not too much fuss :)

My experience with Dexys is very limited - I've only heard Come On Eileen in just about every bar I've walked into and saw them on the Young Ones once as well, but I've been meaning to give them a try for some time now.
