I did hear somewhere that she did write her own songs :O.
I think she could be quite big. theres as much a hype about TiK ToK here as there was Lady GaGa's Just Dance! :)

Disagree.
I don't think she had what it takes.
Lady Gaga came out and you knew she was different.
Kesha came out and she just looks and sounds like any other whore with an album.

I really like the backing track. Its just a lovely backing track with some obnoxious toothpick with breast implants talking over it.
Will this thread turn into a in-depth discussion over whether you would hit it or not?

Still I'm glad its hear to discuss. These songs end up being a societal gut-check 90% of the time.

So do you really actively search out these songs? Because in my experience at least I don't really have to look for them, they're just shoved at me from all directions.

songs like these? no, but what I'm saying is I go after things in debate.

understandable. Ke$ha's probably more interesting debate on this site than plenty of other bands where people just say "lol! Their good!"

well most of those guys are spammers. My big issue with what people "discuss" here is that they play it fairly conservative.

They can say "I talk about what I like" (not kayleigh) but when you boil it down, people generally talk about things here no ones contesting them on. If someone made a thread about why they thought My Morning Jacket sucked it would be the most talked about thread on here.

If people argued with their gut, rather than analytically with phrases like "no think about it", on topics like why Beck is the new Lou Rawls or why Kiss was better for music than Black Sabbath this site would be a lot more fun.

People around here are too worried about being cool at the Louvre to ever wonder if their being honest with themselves.

I don't know, I always felt that people here were actually pretty honest about what they like. Maybe there are a few who are conservative based on what others will think but I actually think this is a pretty open site.

This kind of leaves me wondering what you like.... your journal, while excellent, seems more about discussion about how you feel about music in general, rather than specific artists.

thats because for my first two years here I beat people over the head with them.

I'd say people like what they like here, and are honest and open about that, but for the most part MB can be a little "group think" at times. Which is why I try to post **** like this.

but for you Milo, I'll blog my passions a little more directly next time.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-06-2010 03:56 PM

I'm not going to attack something you like, but if you attack something I like, you better believe a 12 page discussion will ensue.

No, please don't. Your journal is refreshing; that's why I read it. If you reverted to a standard format, I might lose interest. But on second thought... I probably wouldn't.

John Cage SUCKS

VeggieLover 01-06-2010 04:43 PM

ironically I'd never heard this song...but my art teacher was raving about how much it sucked and that our class could come up with a better/song video in about half an hour.

Then i came here, and there it was, right on the first page. go figure.

Honestly, I don't like the song. There isn't anything new about it. It's popular because it talks about the life we all pretend we wish we had, but which in reality would just suck, even if you didn't realize it right away. This kind of music makes me ashamed to be in highschool. I garuntee you this song will be played at the next dance, and i garuntee you I'll dance to it just as hard as i do to all the other trash they play at such events. But it's pop, so its barely worth discussing.

On topic, didn't P Diddy produce this song? He's got a little spot in the opening line which I would assume is there because he did. The production was really nice, which i'd expect from him after all those years of doing it. I certainly can appreciate the song from that perspective, and if Kesha wrote it then credit to her for writing such a catchy tune.

TheBig3 01-06-2010 05:15 PM

lock it up, dude. You're better than that.

someonecompletelyrandom 01-06-2010 05:37 PM

Sorry/fixed.

storymilo 01-06-2010 05:46 PM

Well now you're just quoting me for no reason... it was also joke by the way.

That's the second time I've heard them compared.

I think Kesha sounds like an idiot.

Maybe because it's actually a great song to dance to? Being shallow isn't necessarily a bad thing for music like this, when all it needs to do is totally absorb you in the moment it's not trash.

The track has pretty much been the soundtrack to my weekends this Summer. I'm starting to get over it though....

jeffspyker25 01-09-2010 04:17 PM
