J-Pop recommendations

Anybody interested in J-Pop? If yes, what's your favorite artist / band and song?

Let me throw one name in: Utada Hikaru :)

If you're listening to J-Pop and you're not at least considering listening to Ayumi Hamasaki, you're probably doing it wrong.

Seiko Matsuda was the original Queen of Jpop during the time when records sold millions.

Watch every single one of these commercials, and sing along to the song. Afterwords you will know the meaning of life.

Also you'll like really terrible Japanese music.

Surely Ayumi Hamasaki is worth considering, but I think her music rather belongs to the Japanese "Eurobeat" genre than to J-Pop!

How about AKB48 ?

It belongs to the category: “This Song Will Never Ever Ever Leave Your Head”

AKB48 - 「会いたかった」(Aitakatta)

She's done a lot of that, but she's also done a whole crapload of pop songs. More, in fact.

I'd recommend Shiina Ringo.
