Emeli Sandé

Is anyone of fan of her? I know she isn't necessarily new but she is most definitely becoming much more popular in the U.S. at the moment. She just performed one of her songs on the Ellen Degeneres show and her song "Heaven" is playing on some store radios!

I watched her live on Palladia a few days ago. I think shes got a great voice. I like her band too they can groove pretty well. I also liked that she stripped it all down and went acoustic on a few songs and her voice is like honey. She also is from a family of musicians and her dad actually picked out her accompaniment with regard to the band. Shes good, I can appreciate it the same way i appreciate Brand New Heavies, kind of neo-soul with a pop lean.

Found the acoustic version, admittedly a grainy video but she really has some pipes.

Yeah her voice is absolutely gorgeous.
I hope she stays famous over here!

My last.fm keeps recommending her, but I don't know if I'm all that into it. Thanks for posting "Heaven," I hadn't heard it. Still, not really affecting me too deeply this time around.

She's huge here in the UK, especially after her performances in the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics. Plus, as she was born in my neck of the woods, I can't even open a local paper or check a local news site without seeing her face plastered all over it. She is completely inescapable.

I didn't realize it had gotten that bad. Maybe they'll come up with a vaccine for that. Right after they devise one to combat the side effects of an Adele overdose.

I'm sure the rest of the country would agree, but it's probably more intense here (in Sunderland, where she was born) and in Aberdeen, where she resides. We don't really have many big name celebrities we can point at and claim ownership of, so they are riding this horse pretty hard.

I don't like her. Didn't realise until recently that it was her who done vocals for Chipmunk, Wiley, Professor Green etc.

Hated these tracks at the time. Why's she suddenly just making a load of noise now though? These tracks are 3-4 years old and they were top 10s?

I hate that 'Read All About It pt. 3' as well. She can sing but that song goes into all bravery and soppy stuff and I find it awkward to listen to and very bland.
