Do you like Taiwanese pop music?

I like it because they have many good song, like Jolin Tsai, Mayday, Jay Chou, Elva Hsiao, Rainie Yang...and more.

I have some people hate Taiwanese pop music, they just have a reason: so many cover song!
But I think this is not a bad thing, a good song can be sung by many singers.

So I like TWPOP music, there are many good singers sang many good songs, and you?

If there is ever a scenario where I can confidently say I don't like something without ever having heard it before, it is this.

I do not like the food nor the music. I'm sure there are many out there that do though.

I, on the other hand, have been to Taiwan, and I quite enjoy the food, but yes the music is so-so. I have a soft spot for Rainie Yang's corny music even though she's a weak singer. Everything else has been unappealing to me, and I actually haven't made a proper effort in looking into the rest of the scene. There's too much cringe-worthy stuff. I would be happy to be proven otherwise.

Jay Chou is actually really great. A Chinese exchange student we had at my high school gave me the album "Jay" as a gift. :)

I also like ""我的地盤" (Wǒ De Dì Pán My Territory)" from the album Common Jasmin Orange. :) Isn't he more like C-pop, though?

C-pop is just a broader category that includes Taiwanese pop. After all, people in Taiwan mostly speak and sing in Mandarin Chinese. :)

Also, I totally forgot about Teresa Teng. Her music is actually very well known throughout East Asia and SE Asia. She had a great voice, and her music has less Western influence compared to what is coming out of Taiwan today. Her music is totally old school Taiwanese pop music though.
