Default Brian Wilson is releasing a new album!

With Al Jardine, David Marks, and Jeff Beck. Apparently Lana Del Rey also makes a guest appearance. Early 2015 scheduled release.

Glad to see he's still writing, playing, singing and recording new music. I doubt I'll bother getting the new album but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the new movie about Brian 'Love & Mercy.'

He's still alive?

That´s an interesting piece of news, Pet Sounds - and a neat album title. It´d be nice if Jeff Beck injects a bit of punch into Brian´s new album. I haven´t listened to much of his post-Smile stuff, but it seems to lack a certain excitement...

Me too, Psy-Fi - I´m going to wait until Pet Sounds gives us a report on it !

I'm hoping (a) that the presence of Jardine, Marks, and Beck will give it a bit of an edge and (b) that Van Dyke Parks won't be involved. Brian's last album, 2008's Lucky Old Sun, had some decent tunes, but VDP's spoken-word interludes ruined the flow. Brian's voice is pretty much shot in live performances, but maybe it'll sound good in the studio. Anyway, I'll definitely be buying it, as I've bought everything he's put out, and I'll report on it.

Never listened to The Beach Boys/Brian Wilson before, but this does look interesting. Mainly because of Jeff Beck, Lana, and strangely, Zooey Deschanel. I didn't realize she was in a band, so I probably will check her out on her own. Also Nate from fun. I would like to get familiar with him before hand. Any specific albums you could recommend?

His version of Smile is pretty fantastic.
