So glad you recommended him.

Some of my faves from Plug.

10cc were so amazing when Godley and Creme were still on board.
Complex but catchy and just extremely entertaining and cool.
Iceberg is one of my favourites. It's blocked here on YT, so here's a dailymotion link.
Wish there was more pop like this.

Guess what? That song was made using electronics...

I'm aware of that, there are a lot of cool glitchy underground bands out there. I haven't been confined to my walking stick just yet.

So what if those cool glitchy bands became the norm? Would you still be arguing against electronics and sampling in popular music?

They will never be the norm, that would be like industrial bands like Skinny Puppy knocking Vanilla Ice off the top 40 pop charts. It's not going to happen.

Well, if this thread was about being realistic it would be called 'What Pop Sounds Like'.

William_the_Bloody 06-30-2015 11:40 PM

It should be realistic in reason though. Goldfrapp would make a great pop band, but because they aren't R&B or EDM they get passed over.

No one would ever consider a band like say Death Grips, to realistically knock Rihanna off the charts.

I would say Goldfrapp are a pop band. They've had multiple high-charting singles.

Yes well your right I suppose they are, but did they ever crack the North American top 40 in any significant way? My brain still thinks of them as an indie band over here.

Anyways Janzoon I apologize for turning your thread into a debate on the state of modern pop music again, but I just get so worked up and passionate about it...but...no...I can't do it. I try...... sooooooo hard but I can't let go!!!

This is better!!!
