because many members in groups allow fans to get attached to a member that they have a personality of which they prefer....having a group or band is one of the most strategic things in the industry. there are different personalities in a band and fans will like a member that they can identify with and eventually following the band, buying their music, etc.

Twice is the most popular group in Korea right now. I don't particularly like the cute concepts, but this cutesy, bubbly concept is what most Asians prefer there. I prefer the more edgy songs from Blackpink. I will admit Twice has some catchy songs.

they are popular due to their catchy tunes. they aren't exactly the group that i listen to like BlackPink, but i'm not gonna lie, their songs are catchy.
