From Romantic to Excruciating: The Art of The Duet

I'm not a fan of overly romantic songs, and when confronted by two lovebirds cooing to each other in a song I usually watch with a kind of horrified fascination, like "How cheesy can this become?"

So it was with pleasure that I came across this duet which is done with great style and a touch of humour:-

(Back story: Miguel Bosé is actually the uncle of Bimba Bosé, which makes the sexual charge of this video a little odd to say the least. What's sad though is that Bimba (31 years old when she appeared in this video) died just ten years later from cancer that moved voraciously - from breast to liver to brain.)

Anyway, this is a thread for anyone who wants to unburden themselves on the topic of vocal duets; The Good, The Bad and The Cheesy.

Amy Winehouse sounds like she’s making fun of disabled people

That's my job! BTW today my retarded co-worker said "You're not supposed to eat on an empty stomach." He was trying to saying "You're not supposed to work on an empty stomach." Infinite lulz.

^ ...or as a friend of mine used to say, "You should never drink on an empty stomach. Always have a beer first."

^ Yeah, she has a strange style. Unfortunately Chula doesn't give us his opinion, but tbh I gave up on that song during the xylophone interlude.

To do a decent duet live is as much about acting as it is about singing, and while Esther has a good voice everything else about this duet is pretty cringeworthy imo:-

Live footage is more amusing for video clips but this is a great song.

Some say they're still hugging to this day

^ lol

I like some of Amy. Not the biggest fan of the clip but it's a nice example of what can happen with two very dissimilar voices.

My fave duet of all time:

Seriously though, Under Pressure is pretty damn awesome.
