Default Early Iron Maiden

Crossing the line between psychedelic and prog metal.

There's a really cool quality to the early stuff. I get what you mean, I just love the presence of the bass. Strange World kicks ass.

I'm one of those who consider these first Iron Maiden albums a lot better than many other albums... Paul was supreme; in my humble opinion his voice was hugely nicer than Bruce's. I wonder what would've happened if he'd stayed in the band: what would "Somewhere in Time" sound like with Paul instead of Bruce?

They would've broken up. By all accounts the guy was just miserable to work with.

I think he meant musically, but yeah, he was rabble rouser, so we'll never no. His solo stuff that I've heard so far is crap.

I'm the opposite. I can't imagine songs like Wasted Years sounding better with Paul on vocals.

Just like Killers probably. He wasn't really much of an accomplished singer and I seriously doubt Maiden could've reached the potential they did with Bruce if they still had Paul in the band.
