7. V (Spock's Beard) - 2000

Beyond brilliant album that has all of the hallmarks of great prog.

Amazing album from a Polish prog band who have been going for a long time. Chock-full of melodies and well-written lyrics, just about every track is gold. One of the albums of 2013 for me.

9. From the small hours of weakness (Verbal Delirium) 2013

Just an fantastic album from a Greek prog rock band (and you don't get too many of those). Standouts "The losing game", "Sudden winter", "10,000 roses".

10. Space Revolver (Flower Kings) - 2000

Very unique prog from this Swedish group and their mastermind Roine Stolt. No-one else quite sounds like these guys.

11. The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Chapter One (Hostsonaten) 2012
http://www.progarchives.com/progress...52142012_r.jpg

The entire epic poem (or the first part of it anyway) set to music and lyrics by the stupidly-talented Franco Zuffanti with his band Hostsonaten. Has to be heard to be believed. Still waiting for chapter two, which was originally due last year...

Blatant Yes rip off band but the songs are definitely not without merit. Worth a spin or two for sure.

14. Days of Future Passed (The Moody Blues) - 1967

Prog before the category had even been invented.

15. Fact and fiction (Twelfth Night) - 1982

One of the best neo-prog bands to come out of the prog revival in the 80s. Sadly had only three albums, of which this is the debut. Amazing songs like the ten-minute "We are sane", the lovely "The poet sniffs a flower" and the dystopian horror carnival that is "Creep show". Sadly missed.

While Trespass may have been a foreshadowing, Foxtrot is where Genesis blew the Prog roof off.
