Default 60s/70s Prog VS Psych Smackdown

First up:

Brainticket "Celestial Ocean" VS Fraction "Moonblood".

(Right. As if there are more than two peeps on this forum that can handle this.)

To get more people to join in you might need to be a bit clearer about the rules - will you tally up the votes on a particular date? Also it might help to be less condescending. You clearly have a lot to offer so I hope you do stick around.

Anyway I listened to these, and I think Brainticket should take this round. Some fantastic analog synth work here, and an all round original sound. Moonblood had a couple of great songs but I'm not sure if I'd keep going back to it rather than any number of other fuzzy pentatonic riff filled 70s band.

Alo: no need to tally the votes since we will be lucky to get 4/5 responses.

....

I agree with you: The Brainticket "re-formation" cd is the clear winner here. Perhaps not much in common with Cottonwoodhill , but exceptional nonetheless. Sorta like the latest two Gong lps, would you say?

WEIDORJE "SAME" vs COLD SUN

Don't know the reason for the "smackdown" -
pairing random prog and psych albums against
each other when there are good and bad in each.
You might as well pair soukous vs. zouglou.

Anyway, never much liked the christian Doors-wannabe
of that sole album (thankfully) of Fraction.
The masterpieces of Joel V's Brainticket
on the other hand are superb circumnavigations of
braincell egg yolks of ooze. Living right up there in
classic arabesque deepfreeze with Cottonwoodhill
and Psychonaut.

Also, stop it!
You're coming off as a retarded dickwhistle herder.

Agree with both of these comments. You're confirming the stereotype of a prog head as arrogant, condescending, high-handed and up himself. It's not nice. You're making Frownland look kind, understanding and gentle. I think you've already ruffled enough feathers here; prog heads have a hard enough time being accepted here without your stupid brand of elitism.

I'd take the Weidorje.

And the Slam.
Symphonic Slam is that rare thing - proglite that actually works (but forget their 2nd lp - with exception of the one track). Dare I say it, pop-prog. But good.
