SUbhumans

i bought EP-LP a while bacl, which is essentially a LP made up of four of their early EP's. I'd highly reccomend this album.Anyone else like Subhumans?

Metal_Head 01-17-2005 09:00 PM

kind of...

sleepy jack 01-17-2005 09:14 PM

Dude subhumanz rock to bad ive never seen them live.

Fenixpunk 01-18-2005 07:25 AM

I saw subhumans play last year when they came through, they put on such an awesome show, played all of their old favorites like No, Religious Wars, Black and White..it was a show that ill never forget. They played with meet the virus (aka naked aggression) which made it that much better.

All_Nite_Dinah 01-18-2005 07:48 AM

Black and white is probobly my favorite by them

jesus 01-18-2005 08:44 AM

I agree. Thier song: "Susan" Absolutely made my jaw drop when I first heard it. It's one of the most haunting songs I've ever heard. And thats saying something.

I got chills thinking about this song when i read this, definetly a disturbing song and one of my favorite "slow" songs from subhumans along with Ex Teenage Rebel.

chairleg55 01-20-2005 12:19 PM

They're OK. They also did a load of stuff when they were called Citizen Fish, which I prefer to be honest.

Fenixpunk 01-20-2005 12:21 PM

Citizen Fish is the newest band, Subhumans were first, and Culture Shock was in the middle..
Subhumans were the punkest of the three, Culture Shock is very reggaeish, Citizen Fish sounds like a combo of the two, not as hard as subs, but not as bouncy as culture shock.

Clay Aiken Is A Terrorist 01-20-2005 12:22 PM

citizen fish was good, but i prefer subhumans

All_Nite_Dinah 01-24-2005 01:56 PM

Yea citizen fish came after Subhumans and for some reason citizen fish just bores me.

hookers with machineguns 01-25-2005 08:27 AM

I like Citizen Fish (I own Life Size & Flinch, good ass f*cking albums), but naturally I'm glued to the Subhumans. Like I said a while back, D*ck Lucas is one of the best song writers.

Day The Country Died > EVERYTHING

The one and only Subhumans show I saw (and probably will ever see :( ) was amazing for many reasons: 1. I was loaded. 2. I didn't get mauled by patriotic skins 3. I didn't understand anything D1ck said and loved every minute of it.

pmorr 10-25-2005 10:11 PM

Yeah i saw them live in NY, and it was amazing.

Fenixpunk 10-26-2005 09:34 AM

Ive seen the subs twice and citizen fish several times. Dick is awesome both on stage and in person. There isnt a subhumans album that i dont like and there is always a subhumans cd near me when i need my fix. my favorites in order:
1. The day the country died
2. Time Flies/Rats
3. EP/LP
4. Live in a Dive
5. Worlds Apart
6. From the Cradle to the Grave
7. 29-29 Split Vision

i still need Unfinished Business and theres quite a few old live subhumans tapes available that i havent seen around here but you can order them on their webpage.

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 10:51 AM

6. From the Cradle to the Grave

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 11:41 AM

the more they take a piss the less ppl you can trust !!!!!

i like cylone b movie

Fenixpunk 10-26-2005 11:49 AM

its Zyklon B movie. Zyklon B was a gas used at Auschwitz and in the early american gas chambers.

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 11:54 AM

ahhhh cool

i like the verse , whole in the bottom of the earth where the blood pours out at the end of the day after the usaull amount of ppl have died , sit back and watch the social decline , its a dying world !!!!!!!

Fenixpunk 10-26-2005 12:02 PM

subhumans have some of the best lyrics ever written, hes my favorite lyricist, only person that i can think of that comes anywhere near him would be Jello Biafra, but even jellos lyrics dont have the impact that his does.

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 12:15 PM

Yeah I Think Dood Lost His Mom To Cancer , Sadnees Is A Good Creative Lift Off

Fenixpunk 10-26-2005 12:18 PM

in his song "No" he says, no, i dont believe in jesus christ, my mother died of cancer when i was 5, but not sure if its real, or just a line.

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 12:28 PM

in a smoke filled room , where we goin at all we got no more gigs

then something about her smokin , then she died

not sure exactly

Fenixpunk 10-26-2005 12:33 PM

ya, "no more gigs"

"when i told her we were finished, she smoked a cigarrette and sighed, one last fag before we go home, she said she loved me then she died, It doesn't happen like this"

my first band coverd this song, i never stop to think about who "she" was.

THE GOLDEN STRING 10-26-2005 06:13 PM

hell yes , nice

drunkabilly 10-28-2005 05:29 AM

See them about 3-4 times live and their offshoot band Citizen Fish live a fair few times aswell. They always put on an excellent show, one of my favourite live bands :).
