There was a pretty cool scene here back in the early 90s... Superchunk and Polvo and whatnot.

The area being Chapel Hill / Raleigh.

There probably still is, but I'm too apathetic to find out.

I live in Broadford Australia and don't really have that many bands in our local area. The best I can think of is Sterotype and some country band. Oh and a rapper called Laconik
