I like New Noise. Any reccomendations?

cardboard adolescent 01-15-2006 07:54 PM

Yeah, that shit is cool.

I still haven't gotten around to buying it though.

Anyone else notice that the title seems to be a reference to Ornette Coleman's "Shape of Jazz To Come?"

Not that the Refused are quite that avant-garde or anything.

Just go out and buy any album and you should be happy with it. Refused are a totally awesome band.

Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent is just as good as The Shape of Punk To Come. Personally, I'm more of an (I)NC guy, maybe just me.

sleepy jack 01-17-2006 11:56 AM

My friend is like that, I can see why but i prefer le refused.

The Shape of Punk to Come is oh so good.

mannequin Republic 10-07-2006 09:41 AM

That whole CD is a classic. Some vocalists would kill for that scream.

Pink Moon 10-30-2006 02:41 PM

The Shape of Punk to Come <3

Sneer 10-30-2006 03:09 PM

upon first hearing new noise, i was blown away. So i bought the album. blown away. Shame he went and undone all that work by forming (international) noise conspiracy

Sound Devastation 10-30-2006 06:24 PM

the shape of punk to come is seminal.

rsnjeff 11-01-2006 12:09 PM

any semi-decent record store should have it.

Sound Devastation 11-01-2006 05:50 PM

yeah... i got it years ago from HMV i think! if not it'll be on Ebay or Amazon for sure.

anyone know if there was a vinyl edition?

Peerbreed 10-12-2008 07:47 AM

I have "The Shape Of Punk To Come", "The New Noise Theology" and "Songs To Fan The Flames Of Discontent". All three are excellent. I get pretty pumped up listening to them. I plan to pick up "This Just Might Be... The Truth" and "The Demo Compilation" in the near future.

Shape of Punk to Come is one of my top five albums of all time.

jackhammer 10-13-2008 11:33 AM

I have'nt heard any Refused apart from the brilliant 'The Shape Of..'. I need to get their other releases. It's such a great album to vent your anger out with.

Farfisa 05-09-2011 02:28 AM

I have only listened to "Songs to Fan The Flame of Discontent" and I think it's amazing. Is the "Shape of Punk to Come" really that good? I've heard it was super overrated. I mean, "Coup D Etat" is probably one of the most explosive hardcore songs I've ever heard.

The thing is you'll really need to find out for yourself if you like it, because the album is more than being the most explosive. I'm not usually interested in hardcore and I like this album a lot. That should give you a hint. I love how they use multiple genres all together to create their sound. They transcended their hardcore label on this release.

Farfisa 03-04-2012 09:48 AM

Bumping for amazing recent live performances.

crashburnbleed 04-08-2012 10:05 PM

This Just Might Be... the Truth is hands down my favorite. Fast hardcore ftw.
