This Great Decay and The Keystone All-stars are basically local bands here in Pennsylvania. This Great Decay is actually my boyfriends band. They're rather new, and they've got potential. They sort of bring back the old school punk rock n roll that has dissolved around in this area. As for the Keystone all-stars....legends as far as the local bands go. Punk rock as well. Although they broke up a couple years ago...

Oh and on a note to Thrice, since you are a die hard fan of thrice, you shall like Strike Anywhere. They cross some of the same lines as far as music goes. The vocals for Strike Anywhere are more raw and like one octave deeper than that of thrice. Check them out honestly!

You are right, however, they didn't go for the song title first. The meaning behind their name is just about life basically. We go through life from the first day we are born already another day closer to death. Not to be mixed with modest or pessimistic assumptions, but its true. This Great Decay means inevitably dieing the beautiful life we live.

I see. Is that a theme commonly touched on in their music?
