most influential band to you
throughout my years listening to punk and emo there have been a lot of bands that i have really gotten a lot of inspiration from. some are
ampre circle takes the square orchid you and i welcome the plague year and i have been listening to ruhaeda almost religiously lately. sometimes i feel like these lyrics are a story of my life too. maybe you've had the same experience. |
Awesome listt, add Saetia/Hot Cross, Cap'n Jazz, Trophy Scars (pre-alphabets), Thursday, Million Dead, Bloody Brothers, Fall Of Troy, Converge and mines the same. Well roughly, maybe Ampere, You & I, and Welcome The Plague year would be lower then some other bands.

The Minutemen are such a big inspiration and influence to me. So intelligent, unique, passionate, fun, diverse, honest, talented and...yeah you get the picture. They did what they wanted, and in those days the idea that a bunch of untrained, working-class kids could pick up instruments and make such great and interesting music was practically unheard of. That's something which has inspired so many people, myself included.
Other bands that've inspired/influenced: Black Flag Dead Kennedys Jawbreaker and lately Sonic Youth. |

Indian Summer Husker Du The Minutemen Fugazi |
none

^ No bands have influenced you in any way?

The Mars Volta and Alexisonfire probably most
|
Flogging Molly influenced me to return to acoustic instruments.
|
drunken lullabyes was a great album
|
^^ Agreed.
Flogging Molly influenced me to drink more. Alive Behind The Green Door = Awesome Album. |
^Drinking to them on St Patty's day is perfect. But because of them I picked cello back up in hopes to start a band with it. Plans fell through, but I'm still playing.
|
No love for Swagger or Within' a Mile of Home?
|
I didnt care much for "Within a Mile of Home." I absolutely loved "Swagger" though.
|
yeah, swagger is good. my personal favorite song is if i ever leave this world alive
|
I love Within' a Mile of Home.
The last couple songs on album are brilliant and Tomorrow Comes a Day Too Soon. |
Alive Behind The Green Door > Drunken Lullabys > Within' A Mile Of Home > Swagger
But they're all fantastic albums. |
Wasnt "Alive Behind The Green Door" their live CD?
|
Yes
|
Oh, ok. A friend of mine saw them live once and my exboyfriend saw them twice. I heard they're pretty boss live. I should take a listen.
|
Yeah, they're good live, really energetic.
|
The Real McKenzies are 10 times better than Flogging Molly live, lots of whiskey shots and kilts flying everywhere
|
somebody ALWAYS has to come along and say of some band they know thats waaaay better than flogging molly. dont poo-poo on our parade.
|
dropkick murphy's is the best irish band.
the band that influenced me the most is probablly stiff little fingers. |
the dropkick murphys suck
|
you suck.
|
so....
irish guitar pwnz though. |

Flogging Molly>>>>>>>>>>>>Dropkicks. Though the Real McKenzies own them both. The Pogues are also better then flogging molly & the dropkicks. Thus ends your irish/scottish/whatever punk facts. |
Spoken like a true Elitist. :)

Million Dead are a british post-hardcore band, really good great lyrics. Similar to like, Reuben or At the Drive-In.
http://www.purevolume.com/milliondead Trophy scars are an emo/post-hardcore band they're very good. Except, their latest album isn't that great, its just kind of boring. Don't listen to any of the songs that are like, "A*word. A*word*s". Listen to like, cats and sleep little nemo. Make sure you listen to Jerrys the name on their myspace its probaly my favorite song by them. http://www.purevolume.com/trophyscars http://www.myspace.com/trophyscars |
