Question The Official Blink 182 Thread

What are your thoughts on Blink182? Like 'em? Hate 'em? Or are they OK?

I hate them. I think they are one of the very worst bands out, they are good at playing, but it is their lyrics and how they sound I hate. I think they are very bad, and everyone thinks they are real punk rock, when really they are about as punk rock as nsync, but that is my opinion..

Here's a thought; let's stop labeling music and fighting over what genre a certain band is, and start listening to whatever pleases our ears no matter what anyone thinks of it! ;)

I can totally understand hardcore punks hating them because of how they brand "punk" music...fortunately, I'm not hardcore punk.

I DO like a lot of punk music, I'd even say it's one of my favourite things to listen to. But I actually like Blink still, especially their older stuff...I'm still making up my mind on their new CD.

There older stuff sounds really horrible to me... I like hardcore punk, and most all kinds of punk, but that just sounds like they bought some crap instruments and started bangin on them, but hey, that is just my opinion!

Yeah but their stuff isn't supposed to be punk. If I was listening to it from a punk perspective, I would think it sucked ass too.
One of my favourite songs by them is Dammit.

According to them, they say they are punk, but that is not how I see it, they are good at playing their instruments now, but I just think they are really bad...

They said they ARE punk? I saw an interview where someone asked how they would classify themselves...their answer:
Some people would say we're punk or we think we dress or because of the way we act. We're not really big on genres of music. We play our music and have fun.

Or something like that...

That is weird because I saw something in a magazine or something that they said something about being punk, and it said the princes of punk or something, it was weird and my sister has a movie where he keeps saying hes punk and its on the inside or something.. If you can understand what i just said lol..

wow so I guess they are somewhat confused on who they are...but either way, no matter what they consider themselves, I don';t consider them punk, and from a non-punk point of view, i like them.

I can say that I did not enjoy their previous 2 albums,
however their newest album the Blink-182 (enhanced) CD is actually quite good and there are a few good songs on there. But other than that I can take them or leave them
