I haven't heard their new one and as it's been said already Staring at the Rude Bois was dreadful but I really liked their debut album.

I had heard one or two tracks initially and wasn't THAT bothered but thought I would watch them at a festival I was going to if they didnt clash with anyone I really wanted to see. I thought they at least looked that they would deliver a pretty crazy show.

Well, they delivered a crazy show alright which made quite an impression on me and they ended up being a true highlight of my weekend. The singer was punching himself in the face, smashing mic stands off the floor and at the end of the set completely destroyed the drum set and stood ontop of the rubble to salute the audience. In a very professional move he also took the time to thank the crowd and then thew his mic over his shoulder and the band applauded the audience. They seemed a really crazy bunch of lads wanting to have fun but also very down to earth at the same time and appreciative of their exposure. They came across as a normal bunch of lads that were almost embarrassed to be playing Download festival and for the size of the crowd that turned out to see them. They had only had one or two singles at this point and were a reasonably small band.

Oh yeah, and the music was pretty good too! :thumb:

I liked Orchastra of Wolves the 2-3 times I've listened to it. Need to play it again soon, and check out their newer one. They remind me of parts Propagandhi and Refused.

What's the general consensus on which is better?

Never listened to "Orchelves of Wolves" but "London is the Reason" is a gorgeous, gorgeous album.
Only complaint is that the begginning is a bit rushed. The songs don't really fade into each other, they just shift gears into different songs that sound somewhat the same. The individual tracks are great though.

So what's the deal on these guys? I don't live in the UK, so I don't really have a feel for how hyped or acclaimed they are, but I've heard them heralded as like the best UK punk band since whoever.

I should probably give them a good listen at some point... they pop up on my last.fm recommendations a lot.

My advice: Just give them a listen if you're interested. Don't worry about the level of hype, as all that does is set some sort of expectation.

I still need to check out London is the Reason. Been a while since I even played Orchastra of Wolves.

I've only heard their debut album once and I remember enjoying it. I was a little taken back by the lyrics on "Orchestra of Wolves", but I think that had more to do with the fact that it was on an iPod my mum had given me for Christmas. Not exactly the band I would've expected my mum to be listening to. They're a band I've been meaning to find and listen to again, but just have been forgetful in doing so. Perhaps I might go hunting for their debut and new album and give them a spin in the near future.

Well yeah, of course I'll listen to them. I was more interested in hearing some of you guy's angle of them, and how they're viewed overseas.

Some of their lyrics are fairly crude and to the point, thats for sure. I like the energy and the brutality of their first album but i cant say i'm a fan of the lyrics.

I find them quite obnoxious. apparently there's like knife fights, mosh pits and other tough guy stuff going on at their shows.

their music is okay though. nothing special. at least not in the tracks I've heard.

Knife fights? Where are you getting this from? Anyway knife fights aside, whats bad about a mosh pit?
