Bright Lights of America

does anyone know how many songs are going to be on the new anti-flag EP i have heard that there will be either 2 3 or 13......

Oh dude you're such a hardcore anarchist, posting on an internet forum saying FUCK THE GOVERNMENT AND listening to Anti-Flag? You're way too cool.

Pwned. I'm actually looking for to BLOA, though. I didn't like Anti-Flag much until their last CD which, while a bit poppy, had some good lyrics. Also "A Benefit For Victims Of Violent Crime" was really good.

that album was really good... the story behind it though was really sad to read.

Anti-Flag is echoing a really old argument.

Tragic story, yeah.

Your mom's echoing.

It's weird that Rise Against seems to hang with them so much. Rise Against says more in one song than Anti-Flag have said in their entire career. And usually I think it's stupid when people say "if you don't like America, then live somewhere else", because they usually say it to someone trying to make America a better place. But in Anti-Flag's case, I really think they SHOULD leave. screaming "**** the government" when you're owned by a major label (and not just any major label, RCA, which utilizes child labor) is just plain stupid. In fact, I'm gonna write a song with my band: "More Russ Rankin, less Justin Sane".

That is the single greatest statement in any Anti-Flag thread.

tjtech12 03-22-2008 05:25 PM

I could also write a song for Tony Brummel entitled: "More Snapcase, less Hawthorne".

Alfred 03-22-2008 06:16 PM

Anti-Flag says "fuck" to everything. Fuck them.

PaperHurricanesAndPlanes 03-25-2008 06:49 PM

Did Avril Lavigne actually say both those things? Either statement on it's own is goddamn ridiculous. Put together they're like...monster-mega-ridiculous.

sleepy jack 03-25-2008 06:52 PM

Her being a modern day Sid Vicious is pretty accurate if you ignore the fact she actually writes and plays her own music. In many ways she has become (prior to the last release) a poster-child for the MTV punk scene.

I rip on Anti-Flag a lot for being ridiculously simple and repeating a very tired, hypocritical message. And it's like they heard me and decided to up the ante on this album, and make it the most simple, derivative, shallow, unintelligent piece of shit possible. I had to review this for our station and I wish I could get the 40 minutes back. My god it's horrible.
