Are you kidding? The Jam=Sex Pistols
Sex Pistols ARE pub-rock for the most part

The Dogmatics were heavily influenced by The Clash, you can tell that just by listening to them. The Clash have a lot of rock and roll and alternative as well.

Just two examples the rest of your list was pretty solid.

I apoligize. I didn't mean half. I just read The Jam, and was like wtf?

The only sticking point being that the punks hated The Jam and would regually beat up their fans.

I suppose, I'm so into punk though that I can tell minute differences and feel like The Jam are completely different than the Sex Pistols, much poppier I find.

I surprised you know The Dogmatics, they're pretty unknown. My dad worked with one of the twins. I find 'Thayer St. one of the best songs of the 80's. Come to think of it they do sound alot like the Clash, but not in the sense that they're ripping them off or anything like some bands *cough*Rancid*cough*.

I used to like 'Ruby Soho', then I realized, "Hey! Theres this band called The Clash, they sound just like Rancid! Oh wait...they were before them? Huh. Wait....all their songs are better than them and more original and well written? Wow! Why did I waste time listening to Ruby Soho when I could have listened to London Calling?!?"

Rancid aren't original, and they're trying too hard to be punk.

And yes, The Clash were much more passionate and authentic than Rancid can ever hope to be. Why have a silly ripoff band, just because they're modern, when you can have the real thing?

Haha, yeah...the Clash is way cooler.
By the way, Did some newer band cover Rock the Casbah because I heard a different version a couple times and it is in my opinion very different from the original.

Edit:
I found it, Green Day covered it. Wow, they are about as punk as Motley Crue, haha

Check out Rachid Taha's version of it...

I don't think I have enough posts to put a link on here, so just type it in Youtube.
