New Rancid CD delayed....AGAIN!

So I just found out the new yet to be named 7th offering from Rancid will not be out late this year as previously stated but will be delayed until early 2009. Stop me if I'm wrong but haven't they been delaying this release since like early 2007? I'm not sure I'm even intersted anymore with all the bull**** and drama it can't possibly live up to the hype.

band is garbage now. hopefully this sounds like good charlotte.

I have a mixed opinion of Rancid. On one hand, their music's all right, they have a more classic punk sound, but on the other hand, they're kinda going downhill.

I'm interested to know what the songs will sound like though.

Their music is about 20 years too late for me.

I agree, I haven't really liked their sound since "Life Won't Wait". The big hype on their new release was that they were supposed to be getting back to their roots and the album would have a more early Rancid sound to it. I'm just fed up with waiting.

I love Rancid's music but I obviously don't follow them close enough to know about "all the bull**** and drama." I saw them last year, great show. Bummed the record is delayed again.

In addtion to all the delays (I count 6) they've split with their longtime drummer Bret Reed citing personal differences and there are reports that both Tim and Lars are battling addictions that could or could not be the reason for postponing the new release. I saw them recently too and they looked a little tired, oh well, thats just my opinion. I'd be more than happy to eat my words if this new CD turns out to be any good. I'm still a fan (for now).

six delays is pretty serious.

i wouldnt get your hopes up of a good album either.

thats my opinion

I knew about the split and last I heard Lars had a baby boy and got his sh*t together, I would hope those reports - at least on his behalf - are just rumors. I'd believe it about Tim though.

the whole idea of delaying things just really pisses me off.

Yeah The Clash are better, but if you don't like ...And Out Come The Wolves then you can get out. Their new album won't sound any good though, because it's not ...And Out Come The Wolves.

I do not like ...And Out Come The Wolves
I would not like it here or there.
I would not like it anywhere.
I do not like ...And Out Come The Wolves.
I do not like it, Sam-I-am.

Okay, I'll get out.

FaSho 11-26-2008 09:06 AM

Not even Time Bomb?

Meh. That song's okay.

Badass Bitch 11-29-2008 11:29 PM

Does anyone really care about Rancid these days?

IMO, after Let's Go, they sucked.

Rockafella 12-05-2008 07:12 PM

Rancid is a great band. Not for everyone but still not worth a "****ty" label.

Here's hoping they go back to their roots and don't go the indestructible route.

randomhero 12-09-2008 08:47 PM

I never understood all the hate about rancid, tim and lars made an awesome punk team together, and while indestructable wasn't that great of a punk album they certainly have a pretty decent track record behind them.

I do remember tim armstrong producing a Pink(i think it was pink, im not sure tho, someone equally dumb) cd and that was stupid.

MNChris 12-19-2008 10:30 AM

I saw them last summer and they put on an OK show. Lars and Matt can still belt it out, but I can't stand hearing Tim sing anymore. It's all just incoherent mumbling now.
