When I think of say London or LA, I think of two or three great bands and lots of third-rate copycatism going on... that's something you can never accuse the folks at CB's of. Punk shouldn't be a strict code - the whole point is illustrated by the Bowery bunch.

I agree & I also thought the Sic F**ks with Tish & Snookie were fun as well.
...Besides I'm a huge fan of the afore mentioned Johnny Thunders (although I only got to see him once)

All of you are from the states personally I can't cross the border but if I had to say best city for punk rock in my opinion and ive hitchhiked all over canada brother itd be my hometown Edmonton AB everytime I get drunk at some of those venues the bands are always rockin and someone always leaves with a memorable experience I think NYC and LA are played out and too well known some new talent should be discovered because the united states seems to come out with new bands with the same*** sounds and its boringman gotta say other than the older **** i've heard i'm uninterested in the united states' punk scene man

Ethan's right. It was created to stop us from forming super sentences that could blow the minds of the establishment.

nothing could be more punk than not using punctuation i mean seriously this one time i was at this show and like i was moshing but i was wearing a leather jacket because it was the winter time and i got so over heated in the pit that i thought i was going to to pass out maybe or throw up of something and when i ran for the bathroom the whole crowd just parted like the red sea pretty amazing if you think about it people are never like that anyway i spent most of the show sitting on the floor after that oh and it wasnt actually a punk show it was mr bungle but melt banana opened and theyre kinda punk it still was a really good show what i mean that was the disco volante tour i always wished i could have seen them touring for california because i think thats their best best album but oh well what can you do know what i mean it was awesome fuck the man smash the system
