I went to Warped Tour in 2007 for the first time with no real prior knowledge of it or the bands that played and god damn was I horrified. It seemed like everyone under the age of 23 in Vancouver had gone punk for the day. It was a little disheartening. However the worst part was the the excruciatingly long bus ride from the venue to the skytrain station. I was alone, without headphones or a book and I had to listen to all the teenyboppers talk about how great the ****ty pop-punk and emo bands that played were.

I did see a few decent bands, and even flirted with the singer from one of them, but I don't think I'd ever go to one again.
i went to the same one because my buddy wanted to go... it was pretty terrible

Haha i only went cause my buddy wanted to go as well. It was kind of them to have free water, but I mean did you drive there or take the bus? I took a Joyce station bus that went all the way along 41st street (I forgot how ****ing long that street was) and I just wanted to slaughter all of them. It didn't get much better when I got on the skytrain to go to Waterfront either, but at least by the time I got on the sea bus there were only a few of them left and they were all wee little 'uns and they can't be begrudged for that, it's like begrudging a dog for licking its balls.

i got a ride there thankfully - i live in richmond - I was only 16 and didn't drive (not that i do now), but i can imagine, i take the bus all the time
by terrible i meant the bands but the crowd was pretty awful too... spent most of the day sitting on the grass with people away from the stage/crowds, ended up sunburned. was weak all around.

speaking of transit though, they're constructing a skytrain in richmond on three road that'll go all the way down to waterfront as well. should be done in september or so. its gonna be a big change. looking forward to it, though.

Yeah it'll be nice to be able to jay walk across Grandville between Robson and Georgia. It'll also be cool being able to get around from the airport, instead of a taxi or bus or bugging someone to come pick me up, I can hop on the skytrain.

Getting back to Warped Tour '07, my friend and I ended up stealing a box of those free juice filled bubble gums they were handing out, it was stupid for them not to accept cash and only have 1 ATM for a crowd of like 250, 000.

I'm seeing POS on the 21st so that scratches one off, I'm not really the biggest Flogging Molly fan anymore and will see them eventually, but I'd rather see them when they're headlining and not playing some 30-45 minute set, and well... Gallows is pretty mediocre but out of the other ****e that was there they were at least tolerable.

Guttermouth ftw! They haven't been on Warped in five years. Didn't they get kicked off for insulting Anti-Flag and NOFX for being so political and intolerant of opposing views? I heard they were selling pro-Bush T-shirts as a joke. Forget their music, Mark Adkins is the man. Can't wait to see what they do this year.
