It's a greatest list not a preference list.

I know the guy who made the list, just like anyone else, he hates Green Day. It's not a preference list, it's a list with a set list of criteria, a lot of people on the site (including myself) have debated on the placements of the artists and contributed to how the list turned out.

I think it's a decent list, I don't agree with all of it, but trust me, Rob is a smart guy when it comes to punk, he's no idiot.

If you're gonna take this list seriously and I don't know why you should, just sign up for the forum and give your opinions, just as long as you don't come off as a ranting fanboy, he can be reasoned with, he updates the list a lot I'm sure.

You've got to be kidding!! The Clash?? Number1! I don't think so. The Stooges should be there instead. I was actually surprised to see that they made it to #5. That entire list pissed me off.

Not a public vote, but a collaboration between posters and mods. Chemical Ali (rob, the editor), Dipsoid, Dreww and some others, I give my two cents every now and then, but because I'm not a real punk person no one ever listens to me. :(

I do agree that Bad Religion above Crass is lame.

And if you guys think this list is so bad, why not make your own? I think when it comes to rock subgenres its probably more logical to do a top 50 instead of a top 100. I surely don't think there exists 100 good punk bands let alone 100 great ones.

If we're talking greatness than no, The Clash deserves number 1. Being the first doesn't always make you the greatest.

If we're talking personal opinion then also no, cuz The Stooges are mediocre and The Clash are awesome.

i'm not really criticizing it, as it's quite a cool list. i'd be interested in seeing the criteria behind voting, but quite frankly can't be bothered cuz lists suck anyway.

It's NOT a preference list, and no it's not perfect, but no list can be perfect in everyones eyes.

Yeah, no list can be perfect, but what respectable human being thinks NOFX or Green Day are greater (in any way) than Big Black?
