I wish that they could find some middle-ground between Iggy's re-mix of Raw Power, and Bowie's original mix. Neither one is really totally satisfying.

I dont have any of his stuff with The Stooges but I having a growing interest in his solo works. I have one album 'Lust For Life' & 'The Passenger' is a top song.
More recentley, I just bought his 'New Values' album after hearing 'I'm So Bored' on youtube. Cant wait to hear it.

I prefer their self-titled debut over Fun House and Raw Power, but it's all good.

...ironically enough the stooges inducted madge into the hall of fame and they covered ray of light.

All of Raw Power. I saw Iggy and the Stooges two years ago. Amazing, but they are old people.

Sonic Youth did a fucking sick cover of that song. Put this sh!t on full blast
As far as The Stooges go, I've only briefly listened to their self-titled album, which was pretty rockin' I have to say. Yep, the late 1960's was a great, great time for music.

Being from Detroit, I take great pride in the Stooges...Iggy has gotta be the hardest working man in the business (a must see live) Funhouse has to be the greatest album. Gimme Danger is probably topping my list on favorite songs.

re mirrorball's love of 'i'm bored', this is one of my favourites also, i think 'New Values' is one of the great underrated albums of his career. someone around here agrees but i cant remember who, urban?

this footage on the OGWT DVD was my first exposure to Iggy Pop's stage presence, real mind blower, f*cking great year for music. You can bet your arse that Ian Curtis etc were watching this mouths agape from their living rooms!

and a dodgy white stripes version if you're feeling adventurous
YouTube - The White Stripes-I'm Bored

the thing about the stooges stuff is that each of the three (i havent heard 'the Weirdness') albums blows you away with a totally different approach sound/production wise.
