Yeah, can't believe I forgot Descendents.

I think the reason most people like D4 is because their lyrics have more to them than just the average love song/humor stereotype of a lot of the other bands like Screeching Weasel and The Queers. That, and because they play some of the catchiest tunes in the genre.

This may be a weird opinion here, considering my other musical tastes, but I like Blink 182. They were a big part of my adolescent years, and a big part of a lot of people in my generation's adolescence. They were fun, and maybe they weren't the most original band, but I can still remember clearly the MTV Awards Live back in middle school or elementary school, with the great and catchy 'All the Small Things' playing and there were dozens of little people swarming the stage. Good stuff.

However, I'm not a fan of Green Day. Early Green Day, yeah, but American Idiot on is crap.

Pinhead Gunpowder ( Billy Joes other group) beats anything Greenday ever did IMO.

Never heard of them

Love Screeching Weasel, I'm listening to you are my Sunshine by them now=) I also love The Queers, oldschool Offspring, The Ramones (even though I wouldn't really consider them pop punk), Alkaline Trio, Buzz****s, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Sum 41, and Descendants.

More recent pop punk is my favourite. New Found Glory, B182 you name it :)

I love Blink 182...At no point were they ever my favorite band, but they were always just that constant through my youth. They were always there and didn't take themselves real seriously and I dig that. Their music was simple but they were out there having a great time, and I think DeLonge and Hoppus were a great contrast in vocals. Never really liked either Angels & Airwaves or +44... Saw A&A live once and it was blah.

Old Green Day will always be classic to me... I still remember my Dad driving me to middle school in the mornings and we'd listen to Dookie every morning. That CD was awesome.

I don't know what people consider Alkaline Trio... Their old stuff is a lot more raw and rugged, their new stuff is more pop. They were my favorite band for the first two years of college, I would constantly jam to them. I really liked their dark lyrics and their sound, I listened to Goddamnit, Maybe I'll Catch Fire, and Crimson pretty much every day. Their Remains thing that they put out is something I'll recommend to anyone. Great stuff.

I dig the the descendents, the queers, early green day, some offspring, the vandals (pop punk-ish), a decent bit of nofx, the lookouts, and some others i forgot probably. Most of what's now considered pop punk, not so much.

You're really cool!

Alkaline Trio has the most plays on my last.fm. I got started with Remains and while Goddamnit and Maybe I'll Catch Fire have probably passed it in my mind, some of my favorites are still on Remains. 'Hell Yes', 'Metro', 'Rooftops', and most especially of all 'Old School Reasons' are all excellent tracks and it blows my mind that they were b-sides and such...

Those 4 tracks are my favorite of Remains. Along with Sadie and Warbrain. I hate pretty much every song that Dan sings instead of Skiba. Dan's songs just come off as cheesy emo to me, Skiba's come off as dark and poetic.
