Mondo Bungle 08-08-2018 07:23 PM

I don't think they'd appreciate you taking their things

Frownland 08-08-2018 07:41 PM

Love this band, Rob Wright is an incredible bassist:

I think NMN owe a lot of their sound to Saccharine Trust, and that Surviving You Always really inspired Sex Mad and Wrong.

Both fantastic bands, though.

Saccharine Trust is like some of the most underrated SST stuff ever. Also NoMeansNo rules.

^ I know right! I remember seeing this YouTube video and seeing hundreds of comments about Minutemen and Husker and a handful referring to ST as "the other guys" along with SWA.

Mondo Bungle 09-18-2018 02:43 PM

technically NMN had an album before that but it's not indicative of what they'd become so I'm just gonna go ahead and contradict myself

Thus why I said Sex Mad and Wrong, which are more representative of the sound they're known for. Mama was way more post-punk than anything else. Either way, ST had Paganicons out in '81, before Mama. Although I would say that Paganicons wasn't super representative of ST's later sound either.
