A Clockwork Orange

Yeah well I've finally got around to watching this film. I really enjoyed but can't help feeling abit let down. I previously read the book of this and it by far bits the Kubrick made film. Despite that it is still a great piece of film which I recommend, along with the book.
If anyone one is pondering the relverance this film has, it has influence when punk, oi! bands.
The Adicts
Lower Class Brats
The Clockwork Crew

pastor of muppets 06-04-2005 07:51 PM

my school is doing that as the school play this year.... its funny cos someone gets raped

All_Nite_Dinah 06-04-2005 08:24 PM

Like I've said before. I like the movie, I'm a BIG kubrik fan. But I dont think most people get the point. And I hate all the kiddies running around talking about how cool ultraviolence and rape are. It really makes me sick. I also think the whole gimik that bands use is just stupid.

The book is much better. Anthony Burgess created his own slang for it that was a hybrid of Russian and English. Punk bands aren't the only ones that have hopped on the clockwork Orange bandwagon, there's also a hip hop MC who draws heavily from the movie, though I can't remember his name right now.

Fenixpunk 06-07-2005 02:05 PM

its a movie that is better when watched more than once.

shandapanda 06-07-2005 03:11 PM

is there a way to watch it a third time without having to watch it the first time then?

holy****yoursooooright. i just finished watching boondock saints and i loved it. A Clockwork Orange is bizarre, twisted and darkly humorous. it's kinda like the sun--you want to stop looking at it but you just can't cuz youre so fascinated-- but that's just me..

I read the book, and saw the movie... The slang was hard to understand at first, but when I learned some, me and my bois started saying stuff like that sometimes, ha ha... People looked at us like we were crazy or something... Love The Adicts and LCB though, havent heard any from Clockwork Crew.

Yeah! The book was great, and so was the movie. I love how Burgess uses that slang, I've just never read a book like that. The whole story was a bit unusual, but in a good way. Anyway, everything's already been said about this book/movie. And I agree with most of it. eeeez gooood.

P.S. Rape is NOT funny (what the kcuf?)

Imonlydancing 10-08-2005 03:28 AM

maaan, I really wanna see the film...or read the book...mhm.

Crimsonpunk 10-08-2005 03:58 AM

I thought that film was pretty good, the slang kicked ass, and I quite like the term Ultra-violence.
