Except it was the British scene that brought punk to the world (yes, even the clothing style they took from Television). If it wasn't for the Sex Pistols and the Clash becoming as popular as they did, then "punk" would just have been a bunch of disparate art rock scenes with a fraction of the influence of punk.

What is this random statement and who does it apply to? And considering the New York Dolls (I'm assuming that's who NYD are) released their first album in 1973, and the Ramones didn't until 1976, then why didn't you just say the New York Dolls and leave the Ramones out of it?

Well it looks like your friend with the random statement found himself banned. Tbh I looked for your list but didn't see it. Looking back now I asked myself 'Why didn't I just say Apollonia and leave The Batlord out of it?'

I admire your self control of not adding Key$h and Manowar to your list. And I'm surprised you didn't mention Metallica's debut album. It's not a really a top 10 anyways, you have 12 entries in fact, two @ #3 and an honorary mention. So who's the numb nuts now?

Ramones didn't sound punk? They did influence a large amount of the genre. That's part of why the critics love it.
