So I did some research and it seems like post-punk came about almost the same time as punk did? Maybe with a slight delay. And that also some bands considered punk seem to drift between post and punk. Just get the feeling that a lot overlaps and is a very wide gradient.
On another thought, does post-punk get any credit in inspiring / influencing electronic music? Because I can see how post-punk's experimentation could lead to that, as it was already located where electronic/dance/new wave would first come up (New York), or was that whole thing already going on, regardless of post-punk? |
when you get banned and come back you should get access to a special sheet talking thread

Live stuff gives you a better idea of why they were so alienating. If I could get a time machine to see one single band live in their prime it might just be Suicide. |
live is always different. The biggest artist in my record collection is pink floyd, but if I could go back in time to see someone live would it be them? Probably not. I would want to go to something more niche, somewhere were its just a rage, and not like a big concert with big names. Im thinking 924 Gilman Street, or some underground 80s club/disco in Manhattan or London.
Also gave the clash debut another listen. I liked it this time more. Still nothing compared to London Calling but still, remote control and London Burning are fantastical songs. :band: |
I like rage, attitude and the ability to free the negative energy.
