Have you ever heard of a group called la femme? It's a French band, they have some cool post-punk style songs.

If I ever met someone irl who mentioned Lydia Lunch I'd legit be paranoid for at least 30 seconds that one of you had tracked me down and were screwing with me. Seems more likely than the alternative.
Well, when your called Maria you get used to people singing your name pretty quickly. One time a teacher did it in front of the whole class to get my attention, that was pretty funny
I had to look up Lydia Lunch and I'm glad I did |
^aww yes that makes my day
the tricycle, amazing Edit: I mean tandem holy **** I need sleep |
Fear - I Love Livin' in the City |
Apparently French people singing post-punk sounds pretty great
Edit: and they sing parts of the album in Dutch omg litovsk |

Mo' people need to give it up to H20 for being pop punk majesty.

Pauk - Mumije
Metallica 100% rips that song off in Master of Puppets.
It's the title track numbnuts.
I don't think any white guy born in the last sixty years can avoid hearing that song.
You did listen to Mumije so you're covered.
Ghostemane made a hardcore project.
Edit: $uicideboy$ are going to do the same. Though, it's sounds more like a fusion of hardcore and memphis revival. |
Listened to Wire-Pink Flag the day

Little lost late 70s Cali gem. You'd think their name would give them a mini-renaissance over the last decade but I imagine they've been pushed so far down search engine lists for their own name that they might as well be called Donald Trump. The title track is one of those perfect punk songs btw.
There's nothing quite like first wave punk and even in that context nothing quite like a band who nails it.
After repping this to elph I'm playing this track on repeat cause it's a perfect punk track and that's really all that's needed to be said. Radio Birdman's entire debut album is fantastic but when you can listen to just the one perfect punk track on repeat then what you gonna do?

Amyl and the Sniffers
Funny enough for the longest I rolled my eyes at the Clash's political messages as I saw them as goofballs just shouting slogans (and still do tbh) but as the days go by this is the song that calls to me the most lyrically no matter how yobbish it really is. It's just where I am and the yobbishness is also where I am. It's like, no matter how plebian it is the basic message doesn't need to be intelligent to be meaningful and powerful. It's just the ultimate political punk song in all the best worst ways.
And "I hate the army and I hate the RAF" just gives me a boner and I wish it was an American song with American references I could play for Americans who don't listen to punk cause atm they'd just be confused by all the British references.

High Tension
Its hamfistedness is half of what makes it amazing.
It's been a minute since I listened to Radio Birdman so I forgot just how ****ing sick they were.
