What a stupid thread, its funny that so many of you think this guy was acctually right. Hes a moron. Its just another example of some kid whos never been involved in the punk community ridiculing what he knows nothing about. Ill try to break it down for you kiddies.

1.Punk is very much about the music. Saying punk isnt about music is like saying that crayons arnt about the colors. Your an idiot, you think that punks havnt been working together for positive social change sense the 70's? Punks have been so involved in social progress I cant belive you neglect it. Massive demonstartions, serving food not bombs, supporting independent buisness,not conforming to societies standard of racism and sexism, etc. etc. You think "Being a punk is about destroying the system, messing with cops, causing disturbance, VANDALISM!" Well that might impress the kids on the bus but that **** isnt going to cut it kid. You can taunt all the cops you want and get arrested and rot away in jail your not doing a ****ing thing for the world around you. Spray painting Cops stink on a wall is more counterproductive than anything.

2. Every body dresses in a standard that conforms to something or another. I've never heard a single punk say that they were dressing up original. I wear what I wear as an olive branch to other punks I may see. Its a way to show a united front that if you see another kid out there wearing a Deviated instinct shirt you can talk to him in confidence that they will have something in common with you. What makes you think your so much better than anyone else by wearing whatever it is you wear? I also dress the way I do as a way to show other people that REAL punks arnt bad people. Because we DONT just sit around all day taunting cops,getting drunk, and throwing bottles. We are real people and have alot to say regardless of what shirt we're wearing.

3. Who said punks dont do whatever they like. In my experience the vast majority of punks listen to more than just punk music. I've never met 2 punks who are exactly alike I think the "mold" as you say it is pretty big. And they do do what they want. Once again I wonder what makes you think your soooo much cooler than everyone else.

4.This is one of my biggest pet peeves. All you kids who dont know what your talking about trying to preach on anarchy. I dont know what your even trying to say by "conforming to non conformism"(conformism isnt a word by the way) Taking action against something dosnt mean your conforming, it means your uniting for a common cause. And this is for all you kids ou there that think that anarchy is fires and explosions and chaos. ITS NOT,rewad a bit about ACCTUAL anarchist theory before you try preaching.

All you people really hit a nerve with this one. Which is also a nice show of hands as to who is acctually in tuned with the punk culture. You all rally behind som ekid that comes on here makes one post to piss people off and runs away. This kid is a jackass, none of what he said makes any sense. Look at the title for christ sakes "punk isn't music" then why the **** are you hear kiddo? This is the kind of **** that just brings more ignorance into the scene. Now all you kids are going to get on the holier than though punk suck power trip and go spreading this ignorance around even further. You think by posting this your being any more rebellious than anyone else? Or is it just a show of your cowardice and fear of persecution? You all go runing around denouncing punk then when the time comes to screw up something big you do it and say your punk to give it a bad name. Your the same kids that get clubs shut down, mess up shows, mess up progresssive projects. Your the enemy. Get a ****ing life.

I actually completely agreed with what he wrote in his number 4. He made it pretty clear that their "anarchism" wasnt true, just another thing to latch onto to make themselves look "punk" or whatever bullsh*t you wanna call it. He couldnt have meant actual anarchy and rebellion, most of the kids he was talking about were in their early teens. All they care about is looking and sounding like anarchists.

My arguement about punk is it`s redundant & has been for years.

I couldn`t care less about any of this , I`ve moved on from caring about punk 'music'. I just think it`s a shame that a genre of music thats so dull & lifeless is getting so much attention.

i agree, there is nothing more lame than devoting a thread to bashing a whole genre, however threads like this is common in most of the other music forums i post on.

What? When was I bashing punk? I was talking about the kids that go around saying "F*CK THE GOVERNMENT" with anarchy patches all over em, without having the faintest idea what they're talking about.
