Any GG Allin fans in here?

Hi

For me GG stood for freedom of speech and total anarchy he stood for something that we are too shy to talk about. Society today has become too robotic and pussified this has escalated over the years thanks to social media and mtv. I love his music also. Any fans of him in here?

His act is cool and all but GG Allin's music is absolute ****.

Also cringe at the pussification comment. Stay woke bro.

I concur, big GG Allin fan here.

Today's generation can't handle him because he was politically incorrect, but they like to make appeals to his image for their shxtty soundcloud "rap".

When the thing that most people are interested in is the on stage antics rather than the music, then you become caught in a loop of never ending outrage fueled by those who love to witness self destruction in others yet don't have the balls to do it themselves. A sad man performing in a side show where the real freaks were in the audience. RIP.

X is probably the closest thing recently to GG now that you mention soundcloud rap. Both were violent people that made "eh" music and were more known for their controversial personas.

GG wasn't all crap ok- listen to the Jabbers , Scumfucs & then his posthumous Murder junkies lp.

the Jabbers stuff was actually pretty good in the vein of Dead Boys and Ramones. The Bloodshed LP with Murder Junkies was corny af, but the Murder Junkies ALBUM with ANTiSEEN (were a great band in the early 90s, have totally devolved into Trump-loving apes as of late) was fantastic! It was edgy as **** without being corny.

I played guitar at his show in San Antonio, where he started a full blown riot and had his arm dislocated by the crowd. I played on another punk band at the time and was asked to play guitar for GG. The music was whatever….we ( we meant me on guitar and my friend on drims… that’s it)were told to just make up some rhythms. So the drummer and I had 2 practices then hit the stage. Never saw him until it was time to play. After that we just didn’t see him at all . Very strange and wild night

Much as having **** thrown at you while listening to ****ty music sounds like a great time, I will go ahead and pass.

klausbrusselssprouts 05-22-2022 09:59 PM

Isn’t he the type of artist that can’t make proper art that is actually meaningful and contributes to society? The type that goes: “Oh well, then I’ll go for the shock value” - and litterally s*** on everything and everyone.
That sort of thing has absolutely no value for me.

SGR 05-23-2022 05:56 AM

I agree, would it have killed the guy to write a sappy heartfult ballad or two?

Art is all about juxtaposition. The **** throwing would have more emotional impact if he sang a love song to me before he tossed his turd at me.

A little too mad for my liking, but he definitely impacted the culture. He was a huge figure here in the East Village of Manhattan.

johnnysaintmarks 04-01-2023 10:56 PM

I am almost certain he was buried covered in literal sh*t and with bottles of whiskey… and unembalmed. I could be wrong, but pretty sure he was decomposing at his services and people said that it was so disgusting that they couldn’t be near his body long LOL. So I’m sure he would’ve loved that.
