Music Banter - Political Rap- "Positive Alternatives?"

I may be one of the few who feels this way, but I'll say it, anyway. No doubt I'm gonna get flamed, but it's just my opinion. Regardless whether anyone agrees, I just want different opinions. I'm not trying to start namecalling and flamin and all that. And I may take a few days between posting here. Anyways, here it is.

I like a lot of rap, though not many of the political rappers. Though people quote these jokers as positive alternatives, I still see Dead Prez as other-end racists rather than truly anti-racism and Immortal Technique is extremely damn homophobic for someone who obviously knows jackall about the issue. So, I don't take "conscious" from these people seriously. And I'd much rather listen to s**t that bumps. I'll listen to 2Pac when he has a message more because he was an artist first, rather than a politician. He had the fun party s**t, and gangsta s**t, too: a mixture of different styles. More human seeming and not so damn serious and preachy. I'd cut him slack if he said something ignorant, especially with all the positive influence he has had in the hip-hop community. There are hater types who wanna call 2Pac a hypocrite, but wouldn't dare attack Public Enemy's flaws. Like they're untouchable. BULLS**T. Public Enemy did say a lot of good things, but they also gave props to black Muslim extremist and racial separatist Louis Farrakhan, in their most commercially known song. But, people wanna ignore this and treat them as almost flawless. I'd MUCH rather listen to 2Pac or Snoop or some horrorcore s**t like Esham, Brotha Lynch Hung, or Necro than be preached "tolerance" by overly serious people who are less tolerant than me. If you quote "positive" groups like this as "positive alternatives", AND simultaneously refuse to point at their flaws, I won't feel like listening to your "recommendations". Which is why I have an inclination to look the other way when people start talking about "positive hip-hop". Maybe you could name some "positive" groups that are different.

I actually like a lot of rap ARTISTS. Like many things I like, though, I hate the ignorant attitude of a lot of the FANS more than the music or thing itself. But, that also applies to many other things besides rap, though. Like, for example, I have many liberal views, but think many liberals are whiny hippie pansies more concerned with being PC than totally honest and without bias (this uppity "We're more open minded because the people we blindly follow are more open minded." tude). MOST groups of people annoy me, in some way. A lot of the goth/punk kids, geeks, rednecks, black, white, Christian, atheist, g@ys, blah blah. Just bored. Comments?
