Default N.w.a

Heh. One of my friends at school, white as can be, wore an NWA shirt to school. One of the black kids sees this, calls over, hey, what does that stand for? Without pause, he casually responds, "Niggaz with attitude!"

If I didn't go to a private school he would've gotten his ass kicked. Anyway, that relatively unamusing anecdote was my useless introduction for this thread about one of the better rap groups from back in the day.

So... any fans out there? Straight outta compton?

The fact the black kid didn't know who NWA were tells me their is something wrong with the majority of the youth today. That's the sort of shit you should be learning in school.

But yes, I like NWA. Not the greatest but good for the occasional listen or just to piss someone off.

I'm pretty sure he knew who they were and what it stood for, but assumed he would catch my friend off guard with that question. And then he acts all offended and indignant when he gets an honest response...

NWA . . . .

I've heard a lot of their stuff and I like it for the most part. I don't always understand all the controversies and media hype surrounding them though.

My favorite song by them is probably Wayback from their Niggaz4Life album.
and my favorite album would probably have to be Straight Outta Compton. And if not that, then Niggaz4Life.

Think about it , it`s the late 80s.The Beastie Boys are considered the spawn of satan by the media for drinking & partying & taking a load of strippers in cages & inflatable cocks on tour.

And the next thing you know you get a buch of black youths coming out & making records about killing cops , calling women bitches & swearing in almost every line.

It might be commonplace now but back then it was really shocking & upset the media big time.

Now that explains it. For the most part I thought it had to do with something else.

You don't understand why there was contraversy behind a band that wrote a song about killing cops?
