This is how I represent
I rock the mic 110 percent
It's intimate
I keeps the party moving like an immigrant
Binary Star, superstar, it's no coincidence
Every verse is intricate
This ain't a circus in a tent
We don't get down like them clown syndicates
I'm used to be indigent
Who said it's all about the Benjamin's?
I want a fortune, I want to make music and hit the lottery
Fortunately my music is never watery
That's how it gotta be, as far as I can see
Maybe you should grab a telescope to see my view it's like astronomy
It ain't all about economy
So the fact that these wack MC's is makin' G's don't bother me
Honestly, my number one policy is quality
Never sell my soul is my philosophy
High velocity
Lyrics like Nostradamus make a prophecy
I told you cats a long time ago it ain't no stoppin' me
I bomb your set that's not a threat it's a promise
Got everybody ridin' on my wagon like the Amish
But still I never claim to be a big rap star
'Cause no matter who you are it's still Allahu Akbar
Better believe this
Most rappers can't achieve this
I'm bad to the bone but x-rays can't even see this
See I'm strategic, I let your money talk bull****
Walk
While I keep it rollin' like parapalegics
Whoever's on the microphone, let it be known
You in danger
I got necks like the Boston Strangler
You ain't never heard an MC speak like this
And Rodney King ain't never felt a beat like this

Not to be predictable but this is raw anyways

RZA & ODB, Cuttin Headz

RZA:
I won't stare at a ho, less I know that I'm going to the mo-
T-t-tel, cause I'm lousy, technique is drowsy
Stop tryin to foul me
Sayin that we're lousy
But I'm a tyrant, defiant, walkin New York Giant
President of the Wu
But I'm also a client
It's the Wu, what, you knew what, you do what, what, who, what, what
I don't give a flying fuck
About a chump, cause this heart only pumps Kool-Aid
Snatch a kid by the braids, and cut his head off

ODB:
Rhymes is rugged like burnt buildings in Harlem
The Ol' Dirty Bastard from the Temple of Shaolin
Dirty to the grain like drops of acid rain
Clang, clang, clang, rhymes pluckin at your brain
So take a sip from the cup of death
And when you're shaking my right hand, I'll stab you with the left
(Whirr whirr whirrr!) Red alert! Red alert!
Ason comin straight from the dirt

GZA and RZA on Pencil.

GZA:

The echo chamber enhance the flow wit the block party
Keep an MC head spinning like Dark Bacardi
This B.A.C. is 2.3
Now the liver's damaged, but his lungs are joint free
So inhale, exhale, breathe and get well
Kick something live stop chirping like Nextel
I'm All In Together, a swordsman forever
I paint the town red, with many heads are severed
R-A-W, I still bring trouble to
Throw your raps in the sleephold, quick to snuggle you
Dart heat your breastplate, meet ya death date
Rook down a E4, look, it's checkmate
No other way to describe a catastrophe
The plan was drawing blood and displayed it graphically
Direct order, hit the border, then slaughter
Horrific torture, by prolific authors
Shape and mold MC's, like I'm playing the skelly top
It's getting 'hot in here' like the single that Nelly dropped
So take ya clothes off, the track is so soft
A little rock'll turn 'em into Ivan Koloff
Why do the Gods make MC's study from
Thirty five, and fifty year, then try to become
Under the study with the sword above the head
So he would keep in mind under the open pledge

RZA:

Is it, the Zig Zag, I'mma pay you a visit
Somehow mistake me as an old wise wizard
World, I'm not the same
I go somewhere, don't remember how I came
Is it the weed, the hash or the 'caine?
Or the Digi being stained on my brain
Appear from a cloud of smoke, the voter's on choke
If surrounded, seven men drop from one scope
Even if my feet was shackled down to one handcuff
To defeat me, ten demons wouldn't be enough
I sleep in the lion's den, without the steel iron
Ascended like Wu, so coming down from Mt. Zion
Superlogical this, superlogical that
Digital, take it back with superlogical rap
Have a shootout, at midnight, the sequel's quicker
Forty four colt jolt, all you seen was the flicker
You distressed like the damsal, lost like little rascal
A flame couldn't generate the heat of a candle
Me, I be a Killa Bee, keeping exilery
Ol' play the desert e, shoot ten millime'
Master the millipede, you try to end the sea
Your body being found in the neighbor yard artillery
A black blind governor, a rich white mayor
Man, this whole city ain't got a prayer
Bobby has invaded, now the whole town's slated
Your decapitated head is being took and operated
Up and down the avenue, I drive a shatterproof
Benz, and all my men's are tattle proof
My mic is a ****, my life is a light
A Day to God is a Thousand Years, how long is a night?
You get trapped in my shadow of dark, ark, who goes there?
Power-U smells like carp, don't put your nose there
Drop you to a tank of sharks, your wound's bleeding
And it's been two weeks since they had their last feeding
Ain't nothing but bones, we plotted the sand
And spread it out, over 20 acres of land
Some call me Steels, cuz it's hard to bend me
C-Cypher Pigs, can't apprehend me
In a no smoking zone, I smoke bones of hash
Niggas see me, then I disappear in the flash
Next time I'm spotted, I got the fatter wallet
Moving with a click that stick like dry porrage
Someone's been sitting in my chair, who goes there?
To sub zero cold, your words can't flow here
Glaciers of ice, plus layers of spice
Say your prayers at night, 'fore you touch that mic

My favorite are the rappers, the egotistical bastards
The people that never clap for your set, 'cause they think you're whacker
Than them 'cause they're the masters
I bet disaster is caused in their mind when he rhymes
and plaster their jaws shut with a fat verse
To him you're a hazard. Weak matter. A reason for laughter
He's preachin' he's live. But he's only that word backwards
After he dies, you can climb the ladder, start a chapter
Art you'll capture finally.
But while he breathes, emcees don't even flatter him
Add a tad if his acrobatical arrogance
To his gentetically engineered emotional pattern of tearin' kids in battles
That'll explain why he mean mugs. He told ya' your team sucks
Said you was a creampuff
Said you dream of choking him with that mic cord
Instead, he blows your mind straight out your head
with that hardcore tear emcees and send 'em to therapy
He says, "**** you!" with clarity. You cry hysterically
As he makes a parody of your passion
You tell your friends you think he's tight
but secretly, you hope his career won't be lasting
'Cause he's an *******. But you know he got nice sound
You know what else? You're looking at him right now.

Red face

There have been some true classics mentioned, especially from the Wu clan. Let me see what else I can drum up...

I think Mos' verse from Reefinition is one of the greatest of all time. This verse was a ****ing call to arms, step your **** up or put the mic down. It was a heater all the way through but it especially takes off from the "Son I'm way past the minimum..." line:

Son I'm way past the minimum, it's a verb millenium
My rap's hold a gat to your back, like Palestinians
Ancient Abyssinia, sure to hold the Gideon
Official b-boy gentlemen, long term, never the interim
Born inside the winter wind, day after December 10
These simpletons they mentionin the synonym for feminine
Sweeter than some cinnamon from Danish rings by Entenmann's
Rush up on adrenaline, they get they asses sent to them
(Gentlemen) you got a tenement, well then assemble it!
Leave your unit tremblin like herds of movin elephant
Intelligent embellishment, follow for your element
from Flatbush settlement, skin posseses melanin
Hotter than tales of crack peddlin, makin em WOOP
like blue gelatin, swing like Duke Ellington
Broader than Barrington Levy, believe me
The hot apache red who burned down your chiefs teepee
You see me?

Then theres the almighty Holocaust on Holocaust (Silkworm), before he changed his name and lost his way...

You fallin down a endless tunnel of doom reality
Graphically, my killer bee family stings the galaxy
Insanity, titanium stomach, devourin guiness
My flesh is solid stone despite my outer appearance
Still diseased, kill viruses, planets and racial creatures
Made MC's sprout tumors so bad, lost facial features
Waste your peoples, left out in the rain, fountains of pain
Eighty shots to the mouth and the brain, shoutin my name
Holocaust, black man, whose veins, littered with thorns
Back-smack you so hard, all your seeds will be formed deformed
Swarm dorms, sting birds, fling verbs like mean curbs
Strike three, mics flee, I infect em with green germs, ringworm
Cuz I'm filthy and guilty, dastardly, mastery
My felony melody has to be a bastards masterpiece
Stop graftin me, chump-ass niggaz eyein me, temp me
I'll break it down simply, I'm horrifyingly empty
Spittin darts on the tip of a glacier used for my hide-out
Rock crush or german suplex, watch spines slide out the side route
Forearm bash with twenty jabs on the ave. or your lab, get stabbed in bloody
bath
While, I'm sippin herbal teas, verbal bees plant fertile seeds
Bitches leave with broke backs, swollen palms and purple knees
Circle thieves like vultures in deserts rest on a cactus
Got oscar nominee MC's stuck to my hatchet
Drastic, indescribable pain, I injure bars
While, Bobby's throwin razor CD's like ninja stars

LA the Darkman and Killa Sin form like Voltron and trade off one of the best exchanges from any Wu-fam I've ever heard on "Heist of the Century":

[Killa Sin]
Ski masked, the First National for a half a mill'
It's real, **** rational
Your armored truck stuck like dustheads for my collateral
Certified criminal, gun smugglin villain who be fillin clips
Fuller than *** swellin your genitals

[La the Darkman]
Specialist, cat burgular, stockin cap murder
Uzi clip inserterer, you got cheese, I heard of ya
You dirty rat, manuevered through traps and torched doors
Plastic explosives, bags of C-4

[Killa Sin]
Yo, flash a cannon, deliver these clowns an understandin
that Cash Rules, don't nuttin move kid, five-hundred grand an'
The raw son, makin assault when armor wait till the gold lock
**** the wreck, fumbled up the wrong time

[La the Darkman]
Yo, I clip the phone lines, cut the alarm, the pipe bomb
Detonation, seven minutes the first task, we in it
Lace the tear gas, put on your mask, load the bags
Check the roof for the jake, I'ma climb the gate last

[Killa Sin]
Scan the internet, copy the floppy shut the drive off
'cinerate the whole data bank before we slide off
Time check: twenty-four hundred and still wastin
The minutes keep racin, let's blow this foundation

[La the Darkman]
Keep patient, I got the whole Dole administration
on CD-ROM, smugglin firearms
And the date to attempt assassinate Farrakhan
From his Middle East trips and buildin wit Sadaam
Yo hold the laptop

[Killa Sin]
(Word up)
We on the way out (stolen Legacy), the future laid out
Our brain scramblin, Arnez break a cold sweat but never panickin
Shooken up, two officers lookin up, we spot em
Pull the heat out, and have both they asses red-dotted

[La the Darkman]
Don't move, we got the bank money not yours
Think of your kids and calmly lay on the floor
Put your hands high, dunn get they guns
Then break em, slap one wit the barrel
Make em bleed then tape em

[Killa Sin]
It's like a minute and ten left, we playin wit death
And I can hear the bomb tick
Sweat drip on the back my palm grip
Final mission, completed all bank funds depleted
Hit the turnpike, bounce to the stash, let's split it even

[La the Darkman]
Yo, the blueprint went excellent, wisdom gods seconds for the dynamite
On the next flight before daylight
Exit through the back entrance, jump the fence
Then slide in the Rover wit the triple black tints
We hit the government
Word up Dunn, we hit the government, knahmsayin?

Its probably cliche to mention at this point, but Big L goes so hard on "Danger Zone" that I can't help but mention this verse:

I got styles you can't copy bitch, it's the triple six
in the mix, straight from H-E-double-hockey sticks
Every Sunday, a nun lay from my gun spray
**** Carlito, we doin' **** the Devil Son's way
Every minute, my style switches up, they said a real man
won't hit a girl well I ain't real cause I beat bitches up
I use words that's ill, L got nerves of steel
I'm cool, but every now and then I get a urge to kill
I'm takin lives for a great price, I'm the type
to snap in heaven with a Mac-11 and rape Christ
And I'm fast to put a cap in a *** chest
The Big L smash stress, cause hell is my address
I'm on some satanic ****, strictly, little kids
be wakin up cryin, yellin, "Mommy Big L is comin to get me!"

Next we'll have to take it to the south for one of Andre Benjamin's greatest verses of all time. The flow is incredible, the lyrics are thoughtful. This one is from the title track of Aquemini, my favorite Outkast album:

My mind warps and bends floats the wind count to ten
meet the twin Andre Ben. welcome to the lion's den
original skin many men comprehend
I extend myself so you go out & tell a friend
Sin all depends on what you believing in
Faith is what you make it that's the hardest **** since MC Ren
Alien can blend right on in wit' yo' kin
look again 'cause I swear I spot one every now & then
It's happenin' again wish I could tell you when
Andre this is Andre y'all just gon' have to make amends

I'll wrap this up with a verse from probably my favorite rapper of all time, Kool G Rap. He has a lot of legendary verses, especially from his older material with Polo. This is from his first solo album however, as that has always been one of my favorite hip hop records. Concise, violent, amazing flow...the mans a legend:

And once again it's big G, runnin the number rackets
wearin Pele jackets
Fast loot tactics, I'm well up in the millionaire bracket
The boss of all bosses, I own racehorses and a fortress
corridors with olympic torches and Mona Lisa portraits
Jacuzzis and saunas and eatin steak at Binahana's
Bentley's limousine the front yard stream is full of pirahnas
I'm set, a private jet, I drink a lot of Beck's
Get a lot of sess condo and duplex, diamond infested Rolex
Deliver a crown at the world units with silver china
Sippin on finer wine-r you see more shines than diamond miners
The Highness, kingpin of heroin
I'm thorough when I have to bring the terror in
Handle business in each and every borough in
town or city, I'm rollin like Frank Nitty, I'm rich and pretty
Back up kiddies, I got crimies that's grimy and gritty
A nigga that's spunky and likes to keep his pockets chunky
Makin most of my money, from all the dopefiends and junkies
I learned from the best the ones that's livin
and the ones that's put to rest
So I bless my chest with a vest and pack a Smith-N-Wes
And then I'm off to get the snaps, not the scraps
The game is be a real mack, the name is Kool G Rap

DR. DRE THE WATCHER

Things just ain't the same for gangstas.
Times is changing, young niggas is aging,
Becoming old gees in the game and changing,
To make way for these new names and faces, but
The strangest things can happen from rappin, when
Niggas get wrapped up in image and acting,
Niggas get capped up and wrapped in plastic,
Zipped up in bags when it happens, that's it.
I've seen 'em come; I've watched 'em go,
Watched 'em rise, witnessed it and watched 'em blow.
Watched 'em all blossom and watched 'em grow.
Watched the lawsuits when they lost the dough.
Best friends and money: I lost them both.
Went, visited niggas in the hospital.
It's all the same **** all across the globe.
I just sit back and watch the show. (The watcher)

DR. DRE STILL DRE
still rock my khakis with a cuff and a crease.

i love this line so much i sing it all the time

Nice dude. I still rock this album constantly. Friday and Saturday nights it's playing in the background, guaranteed.

A line that always sticks out (Still DRE):

"N****'s try to be the King but the Ace is back"

yeah, thats a great line. I think Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" and "2001" are still the albums to beat in the world of rap-- and nobody has come close yet. I dont' care how old those albums are, if you pop them into the c.d player everybody will get down to them.

I actually like reading these, so I'll revive the thread.

Quote:
When a live wire lights little metal rail right
When a marvel of engineering steered me clear in to the plight
Right before the bodegas open, after the peak of night before the paper's delivered
I sat on the corner and sparked a light
The same corner I perched when I zone dropped on the block first
At almost 5 o'clock watching for sun spots or store clerks
Alone spot, almost kinda like the zone was forgot
As if the grid had been reset and couldn't catch to the clock
Or the stoop was stuck in the past a half minute and I sat in it
With a loosie Newpy drift out of my lips, taste; half minted
