Hip Hop as a culture and rap as a genre of music is universal, it doesn't matter what language they speak or what their accent sounds like. Rap itself is like it's own language.

It isn't about america or australia it's about good music. Hilltop Hoods make awesome music and if you know anything about lyricism then you would acknowledge their talent. You don't have to like someones music to respect the skill that they have. One of the greatest lyricists and "american rappers" that ever existed was Big L. I don't like his music at all, i can't listen to it. But if anybody asked me if he is a good rapper i would without a doubt tell them yes. He was an outstanding lyricist and fantastic emcee.

I listen to a lot of rappers from australia, Hilltop hoods, Bliss n Eso, Pez and dialectrix being my favourites.
