Rap Suggestions
Aight,
It looks like the rap forums here are a little dated. The biggie vs. Tupac horse was beaten to death in the 90's, and while the pairs immense influence is still very relevant, it is necessary to embrace quality artists that are making music today. One artist that has been consistently churning out gems has been AZ. His most recent album, 'The Format' added to an impressive library of hits created by the success of 'Doe or Die'. I love how AZ maintains a hard edge, yet he softens his beat and attitude on several tracks which shows a tremendous range of talent. Here are some suggestions: AZ - How ya livin' (ft. Nas) - Atran presents the best of AZ AZ - Gimmie Your's (doe or die 1995) AZ - Rather Unique (doe or die 1995) AZ - I feel for you (doe or die 1995) AZ - This is what I do (the format 2006) AZ - The format (the format 2006) AZ - Vandetta (the format 2006) As far as new artist are concerned, i implore people to look at the amazing talent of Mekalek. I found his most recent album, 'Live and Learn' featured on iTunes, and once again, some tracks gave me the chills. All of his beats are original, and his groups raps are genuine, but what makes them special is they are inspring and uplifting. They definately have a unique style that is very impressive and diverse. Mekalek - Running in place (<---my favorite) Mekalek - Incredible feeling Mekalek & Shawn Jackson - Top of the world Mekalek & Time machine - Here it is Mekalek - love life money guns www.myspace.com/djmekalek I'll end by offering up a few songs I feel representative of my taste Beanie Sigel - Feel it in the air Outkast - Player's Ball Notorious B.I.G. - Living in pain (Ft 2Pac Mary J. Blige and Nas) People under the stairs - Montego slay Scarface - In between us ft. Nas Jurassic Five - Concrete schoolyard |
Mekalek is good, I like it.

it bored me to tearz for the most part, i respect him moving on as an artist, but it was just to goofy, the reason i listened to outkasts rap album was cuz of andres flow. Big Boi's rapping is too run-of-the mill generic rapping, it was andre that made it interesting, so im always dissapointed when they aren't collaberating.
Stankonia was their high point. |

Amen Player's ball might be the best "flow" i've heard outta andre in that last verse. I also like 'Jazzy Belle". I wonder if another album from them is out of the question |

Rosa Parks have andres rap memorized in both of those(which i find sad seeing as how i havent listened to them in nearly 3 years) i dont think theyll come back togethor, nor do i really care, i just wish andre would rap again and ill be happy. |
