ok, i don't know what the hell's your problem but if you're going to look it up on google, MC does stand for Mariah Carey. It's her nickname in case you don't know. that's why she has an album entitles E=MC squared. MC stands for Mariah Carey and E stands for Emancipation.

this is a music site. it's never a sin to answer a thread question that's somehow related to music. duh.

But this is in the rap & hip hop sub forum. Mariah Carey is pop.

correction, Mariah is an rnb/pop singer. and rnb is pretty much close to hip hop.

In that its music, yes. By that logic Napalm Death are basically Britney Spears.

I feel we've all learned something today.

R&B stands for Rhythm & Blues. I don't know where you're getting this connection. Rap and Hip Hop usually have a steady simple beat, sampled instruments and the artist raps (not sings) over the song. R&B usually features a backing band and an artist who sings with the music. R&B has more ties with the Blues than anything else.

EDIT: Oh crap, well it looks like R&B is discussed in this forum.

We should start a sticky called "Things that can easily be discovered by a 5 second Google search" for threads like this. Then we could have a single thread dedicated to berating stupidity.

Just because R&B artists and Hip Hop artists do collaborations and are both dominated by African-Americans doesn't mean that they are the same genre.
