Hip-Hop Battle Round Two Extra Heat

Talib Kweli
Madvillain
The Roots
Mos Def

Runs for one day, very tough.

ProggyMan 02-28-2009 11:27 AM

Madvillain.

Talib Kweli or The Roots.

Damn.

The Roots, I guess.

Wowww... what the hell. How can I sleep at night eliminating 3 of these?

Inorite, any more of these and I might have to stop voting completely.
It seems criminal to leave Mos and Talib with no votes at all.

Also, I like The Roots but find them overrated.
Madvillain will always be a favorite.

Roots bad. The other two have one staple album each to their name and i don't know about Talib Kweli outside of Black Star... so. It's either Madvillain or Mos. That's a toughie. Who to drop?

The duo that haven't bothered to record a proper follow up in five years despite success, acclaim and redefining our expectations of real hip-hop in the 21st century? Or the prodigy MC who cut a bonafide hip-hop classic, then pissed on all expectations by going nu-metal? hmm

This is a ridiculous decision. The Roots are a classic group and probably deserve it more than anyone because of their longevity and consistent excellence.

But Madvillainy is my favourite hip hop album of all time, and I really want Madlib to have some representation in the next round of heats.

Bah...

Yeah, that was my dilemma. I mean, out of all of these the best single album is Madvillainy... but in terms of longevity and consistent quality, The Roots. Then Kweli and Mos Def at least deserve votes in this too. Shiat son.

Surell 03-01-2009 10:57 AM

Well I went Madvillain.

Molecules 03-01-2009 10:58 AM

me too, but the lack of love for Mos Def is a bit worrying
