Default Sadistik-The Balancing Act

SADISTIK on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Downloads

A few months ago my boy Emancipator (dope producer/beat maker) told me that he finally got a rapper that wasn't afraid of being outshined by his beats. He linked me a copy of The Balancing Act with this new cat Sadistik.
Now I was under the assumption that Emancipator's beats were like The Watchmen. Just wouldn't translate to real hip-hop, despite they're greatness. WRONG. Sadistik not only doesn't suck, he makes the most amazing hip-hop album I had heard all year.
Overall I'd give this album a 10, easily. Great lyrics, flow, and of course beats.

"I saw her dance until the rain put the fire out
Burned at the stake, Joan of Arc, little anxious Saint
I illustrate the gates of hell into my notebook
Her flesh burns up in the furnace
Ashes to Ashley, earned to something earnest
I slit my wrist in cursive, then ink pen
Write a revelation then burn a stack of bibles
Question my faith, get my childish ass to smile
Find another son a piece of confidence to muster
Her ministry echoes in this monolithic structure
Cremate the dying Christmas trees
The winter is full of bitter ashy black blizzards
So when the superstition delivered
And it came down the chimney
They found her in the fireplace with me..."

Definitely a great album.

Sadistik is working on two more projects at the moment.

He probably will on his next LP.

On his EP, though, I think Kid Called Computer is doing all the beats.

Sadistik is -ing tight. The Balancing Act has been in super heavy rotation on my Zune and Winamp since I was tossed the album about 3 months ago.

The beats, rhymes and flow are perfectly balanced, and the intelligence and caustic wit of the album really make this boy stick out.

I really enjoyed his album, one of my favourite debut albums and easily in my top 5 albums of 2008. I was also amazed at how young he is, like only 22 or 23, he's really gonna go places.
