Female Rap

I don't know about you all, but most of my collection is dedicated to the ladies true to the game. They're out there proving that they can go as hard as the guys. My top 10 Rap Ladies are:
1.Missy Elliott
2.Shawnna
3.Rasheeda
4.Trina
5.Lil' Kim:jailed:
6.Lisa Left Eye Lopes (R.I.P girl)
7.Queen Latifah (before she went all jazz)
8.Foxy Brown:jailed:
9.Remy Ma:jailed:
10.Khia
Let me know what you think. the jailed think is for the bad girls that went behind bars

Props on the original thread idea, but want to make an intro thread, too? I'm not much for anyone on that list but Lil' Kim. Her albums have some good beats and she's perverted as hell. Love it. I've not heard anything from her in awhile though. Is her latest still La Bella Mafia?

I cant take your list seriously.
No disrespect.

Where's Jean Grae?
Where's MC Lyte?

Dessa Darling is pretty decent, however her stuff tends to sound like a mixture of Ani DiFranco with a hip hop beat, but hip hop is poetry so I feel that counts.

Alexandrah from Solillaquists of Sound is absolutely amazing, I've been trying to find out if she has any solo stuff but to no avail. She has a beautifully unique voice that has power to it.

^ Yeesss, Jean Grae is amazing, nearly as good as it gets. Her stuff with Blue Sky Black Death is absolutely fantastic, if I wanted to be a rapper I would totally model my career after her.

Female rap is like the Women's NBA

Slower
Not as creative
Far less interesting

Oh man, how could I forget about Queen Kong and You're Only Massive?

They're a pair of Irish wannabe emcees with no formal training at all which is very telling in their music, but what they come up with is hilarious.
A bit of a guilty pleasure kind of duo.

I haven't heard a lot but I like how Nellie Mckay will rap at times and it sounds pretty cool.
