Is Rap/Hip-hop even music?
 

Okay, now when I go places I hear people say that they think rap/hip hop isn't music;its just a bunch of words put together with a beat. Yes, I do listen to this genre, but I'm having a hard time finding artists that I like..I don't like the heavy rap music(if you know what I mean)Now is there anyone that has any advice,know any good artists I may enjoy,or even songs?

So pretty much the basic question was "Do you think Rap/hip hop is music?" and plus the help of giving me some good songs to listen to or artists

Of course it's music. Geez...

as for artists, try some '80s stuff if you don't like 'heavy' rap music. Some Run DMC or Beastie Boys perhaps.
