Default Talent of the year

year's nearing the holiday season when record sales will sky rocket...so before the numbers get real crazy who do you think is the best young star of '09...personally it's a battle between Drake and Cudi with the kid getting my favor after Man on the Moon dropped...also who do you think will come out in the end this year, say more grammy's or record sales?y

I haven't heard any Drake. Cudi was pretty good, hasn't quite stuck with me but I really dug it from the start. I'm really waiting on Lupe Fiasco's album (is that **** still coming out this year?). I'm still trying to get a feel for Wale's album. Right now it's Wale for me, possibly changing though.

And then, just when you think you've got the whole blah'd damn thing figured out
And you're surrounded by the ones you blah
Death shows up... anddd blah, blah, blah.

What the hell is the deal with Drake? He sucks ass at rapping, he somehow got famous for a terrible mixtape that everyone seems to like. The concept of Lil' Wayne rapping with someone who came to fame on a Nickelodeon show blows my mind, but I guess it probably has more to do with the fact that he's had so much cough syrup and other drugs he can't possibly know what's going on anymore.

Quote:
Yo, the city is mine (which one?)
T-O-R-O-N-T-O
D-R-A-K-E that's me
You know how the story goes
Pull up, range rove, yo chick, wanna roll
And I play myself in the stereo
And I make 'em wanna
Shake shake it, drop it drop it, bounce it bounce it, wop it wop it
Girl, move that thang like you gettin money for college, go!
Maybe it's just me, but that's awful. And that is not even close to the worst raps he's done that I've heard.

I would say Dizzee Rascal.
His lyrics are amazing
Glasses Malone and Jay Rock are pretty decent too.

I'm somewhat embarassed to admit I have no idea who drake is (I don't listen to the radio at all anymore) but if the lyrics phantom posted are his norm I probably wouldn't be that much into him. Still might check him out though.

you can find a whack verse for any rapper. Drake is aight. I haven't really gotten into any of the new MC's.
Kid Cudi bores me, and i don't really get the appeal of wale(flyer in my nike boots, really?)

Ok, well I'm listening to Fashawn Boy Meets World, and I came- twice. Forget that stuff I mentioned before, this curb stomps all of that. Exile makes gold.

Yeah- it's already been through name changes, postponements- I see this winding up in 2010 too.

Best up and coming artist has got to be Trey Songz. Look for Siditious on the rise though, his last house hop CD was pretty dope and his new one is supposed to change everything.
