^^^^^yeah, been getting back into them a lot lately. Seriously they might be the most underrated, swept-under-the-rug hip-hop artist of all time.

I'd listen to Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space)
Personally, I think it's better than Blowout Comb.

Hip hop MCs - The originals, I don't have much contemporary 'underground' stuff - it's a bit... nerdy? I like some early Timbaland productions but chart hip-hop is totally devoid of any redeeming quality - Kanye West is cashing in on other producers' accomplishments.

1. Wu Tang and associated solo works (esp. Ghostface & Raekwon, RZA & Gravediggaz, ODB)
2. A Tribe Called Quest
3. Public Enemy
4. NWA
5. De La Soul
6. the Pharcyde
7. Grandmaster Flash & Afrika Bambaataa (for starting it all and electro respectively)
8. Mos Def (Black On Both Sides at least)
9. Gang Starr (and Guru's solo Jazzmatazz volumes)
10. Das Efx

All these are pretty much interchangeable...
