Agreed. He became famous for his music. The publicity and movie rolls came later in his career.

I saw a documentary about it several years ago that had all the footage. I've got a crappy 5 minute audio recording of one of their battles (I'll upload it and PM you a link). Up to that point, neither MC had ever lost a battle (according to their respective sources). People forget that they didn't just have one battle. They ended up battling back and forth for several hours throughout most of the night until one of them finally came out the winner. There's some footage on YouTube if you want to track it down.
