In Remembrance: Jam Master Jay

On October 30th, 2002, Jam Master Jay, DJ for the highly influential rap group Run-DMC was shot and killed.

When it comes to rap, Run-DMC ranks at number one on my favorite rap artists of all time. Rev. Run and DMC had some sick rhymes, but it was the beats and DJing that Jam Master Jay laid down to give Run-DMC it's signature sound.

The hyphen in Run-DMC is what holds the name together. Jay held the group together.

It's tricky.
