Ya, he's good. Probably like my.. 3rd favorite dancehall artist, but I really like dance hall (I seem to be the only one here as well).

Most people in NA who like SP have probably never heard more than 3-5 other dancehall songs by other artists. It seems to be he is loosing respect in the Caribbean as well, as least when I was in Guyana, people didn't really like him except his old school stuff like Deport Them like you said.

That said, he may not be my absolute favorite Dancehall artist, he is 6th on my overall most played artists on last.fm, and he has a lot of songs that I really love.

His last album, Imperial Blaze, was actually my favorite of his. There are like a dozen tracks on there that are really amazing. 'Private Party', Hold my Hand', 'So Fine', and 'Now That I've Got Your Love' to name just a few. It's weird to me that he isn't as big as he should be in his homeland because it's not like he has strayed from the rest of the dancehall scene in terms of his sounds. It's better produced and more full sound, yes, but it's still straight up dancehall IMO.

Lastly, what I wanted to say about Sean Paul is have any of you heard the song Snap Yo Fingers by Lil Jon. Sean is in that song but he raps without any accent whatsoever and it's actually really good. Everyone I have showed that to have heard the song, but they didn't realize it was him even though Lil Jon says "Whats up Sean Paul" at the beginning of the song:


I'm kind of hoping that he will do a whole album like this because I think it would be kind of cool, but I doubt he will because Jamaica would probably disown him if he did.
